It was originally intended to be a timeline of women's accomplishments in astronomy.

When Paul Sereno and his team at the Fossil Lab at the University of Chicago find dinosaurs, they typically just look like bits of crushed bone and rock. How do these paleontologists, fossil preparators and paleo artists transform these fragmented fossils into life-size, flesh-and-bone dinosaurs? It takes hundreds of hours, extensive research, and just the right combination of art and science.

The School for Field Studies is a study abroad program with locations all around the world, which aims to give students first-hand environmental research experience. I filmed this video while staying at the School for Field Studies center in Cambodia, reporting over their research into noise pollution, animal overpopulation, and the environmental effects of the religious practice of merit release.

The In Her Shoes Foundation put the "giving" back in Thanksgiving this year. The organization, accompanied by more than 70 volunteers, spent Thanksgiving Day at Grasmere Residential Home, a specialized mental health rehabilitation facility. There, the volunteers helped serve Thanksgiving lunch to the residents, played board games and made gratitude collages with them as part of the In Her Shoes Foundation's Giving Back Program. Why is giving back to your community on Thanksgiving so important? Holidays can be a tough time for people with mental illnesses, said Kasia Wereszczynska, founder and executive director of In Her Shoes Foundation, and taking time to truly listen to and talk with people can help them feel supported and encouraged.

Larry Antonsen wants to do everything he can to ensure no child is ever abused by a priest again. That's why he works with the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP) and attends events like Nov. 3's All Survivor's Day at Holy Name Cathedral Parish, a day dedicated to drawing attention to sexual abuse by clergy members and demanding justice for the survivors. As a survivor of sexual abuse by a priest and a still-practicing member of the Catholic faith, Antonsen knows how hard it can be to heal from this kind of trauma, and he wants to share his story in hopes it can give someone else the courage to come forward and get help.

Oct. 16 was the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization's World Food Day. Their goal this year was to raise awareness for #ZeroHunger - their movement to end hunger around the world. The Illinois State Senate voted Wednesday, Nov. 15, to raise the state tobacco age from 18 to 21, which would override Gov. Bruce Rauner's summer veto of the issue. What do residents and business owners think of the potential change? "I don't think the age is the issue," said Kevin Levi, vice president of Iwan Ries & Co.

Parkour is the act of moving efficiently between two points, but according to Kurt Gowan, founder of Parkour Ways in Chicago, it can be so much more than that. Parkour is about not just the physical benefits, Gowan said, but also the mental benefits that come from working for and accomplishing difficult tasks. Gowan's classes are open to people of all ages and skill levels, and he likes to tailor the classes to his participants so that each attendee is challenged, excited and safe.
